Arecibo Observatory collapse, the end of an era
This month of December started with the sad news of the collapse of the Arecibo Observatory radio telescope. A 57-year-old structure that helped fuel the growth of science on the island and became a center for innovation and research for worldwide scientists. In addition to being a science hub, it was a very popular tourist spot, frequently visited by travelers and locals as well. The radio telescope was used as scenery by filmmakers for movies like “Contact” and “Goldeneye”.

We really hope it can be restored to its glory or rebuilt into modern times.
